Booking & tickets
How do I book a fast boat ticket?
Search your route and date on the homepage, compare operators, choose a departure and enter passenger details, then pay securely. Your e-ticket is emailed to you the moment payment is confirmed.
Is my booking confirmed straight away?
Yes. As soon as your payment is approved we confirm the booking and send your e-ticket by email — there is no waiting for manual approval.
Can I book for someone else?
Of course. Enter the travelling passengers' names and nationalities, and use your own email and WhatsApp number as the contact so you receive the e-ticket and any updates.
How far in advance should I book?
Popular crossings to the Gili Islands sell out in high season (July–August and around New Year). We recommend booking a few days ahead, though seats are often available on shorter notice.
Payment
Which payment methods can I use?
Payments are handled securely by Xendit. You can pay by credit or debit card, bank transfer, QRIS, and over-the-counter options such as Alfamart — the exact choices appear at checkout.
Is paying online safe?
Yes. Card and bank details are processed by Xendit over an encrypted connection. GiliBaliBoat never stores your full card number.
What currency are prices in?
Prices are shown and charged in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Your bank handles any currency conversion if you pay with a foreign card.
Your e-ticket & boarding
How do I receive my e-ticket?
It arrives by email immediately after payment. You can also re-open it any time from the Check my booking page using your booking code or email.
Do I need to print my e-ticket?
No — showing it on your phone is fine. At the harbour, present the e-ticket at the boat operator's counter for check-in; the crew will exchange it for your physical boarding ticket.
What time should I arrive at the harbour?
Please be ready at the operator's counter at least 1 hour before departure to check in, and allow extra time in busy periods.
Passengers & luggage
How are children and infants charged?
Children (roughly ages 2–11) travel at a reduced fare and infants under 2 are usually free or a nominal fee, depending on the operator. You'll see exact prices for each before you pay.
How much luggage can I bring?
Most operators include one main piece of luggage plus a small cabin bag per person. Surfboards, dive gear and oversized bags may carry a small fee paid to the operator at the harbour.
Do you offer hotel pickup?
Some operators include or offer transfers from selected areas. If available you can add your hotel and area during booking; otherwise make your own way to the departure harbour.
Changes, cancellations & safety
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Change and refund rules are set by each operator and depend on how close to departure you are. Contact us with your booking code as early as possible and we'll help with what's possible.
What happens if the boat is cancelled?
Operators may reschedule or cancel departures in case of bad weather, sea conditions or security issues. If that affects your trip we'll contact you using the phone or email on your booking to arrange the next sailing or a refund.
Are the fast boats safe?
We work with established operators that carry life jackets and follow local maritime requirements. Sea conditions in the Lombok Strait are usually calmest in the morning, so earlier departures tend to be the smoothest.
