Nusa Lembongan is the smaller, more laid-back neighbour of Nusa Penida — a mellow island of surf breaks, seaweed farms, mangrove channels and easy beach days. It's connected to tiny Nusa Ceningan by a rickety yellow bridge, and it's compact enough to explore by scooter in a day.
Lembongan is the relaxed counterpoint to Penida's dramatic day-trip circuit: come here to surf, snorkel, swim in clear water and slow right down.
Nusa Lembongan highlights
- Famous surf breaks and calm snorkelling bays
- Mangrove kayaking and Dream Beach
- Yellow-bridge hop to Nusa Ceningan's Blue Lagoon
- Just ~30 minutes by fast boat from Sanur

Why go to Nusa Lembongan
Lembongan is all about easy island living. Mushroom Bay and Dream Beach are gorgeous, the surf breaks off the coast are famous, and the snorkelling around Manta Bay and the mangroves is superb. The pace is gentle and the island is small, so nothing is far.
Cross the yellow bridge to Nusa Ceningan for the blue lagoon and cliff jump, and you've got two islands to explore from one relaxed base.
Things to do
Surf the reef breaks, snorkel with manta rays, kayak or paddleboard the mangroves, swim at Dream Beach and Mushroom Bay, and cross to Nusa Ceningan for the Blue Lagoon. It's also a quick boat hop to Nusa Penida's highlights.
